Joy is passionate about building businesses through advisory in statutory regulations such as tax compliance. Over the course of her professional career, she has developed capabilities in taxation advisory, accounting, and planning. She is also enthusiastic about data analysis, translation of data into useful information, and data visualization.

Prior to joining ASIGMA, she interned at a Tax Consultancy firm where she was given the role of filing client tax returns like Pay as You Earn, Value Added Tax, Income tax, Withholding tax, Local Excise Duty, and other tax returns. She has experience in using the URA Electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing System (EFRIS), conducting comprehensive financial audits, and developing financial statements. She also has proficiency in different accounting software like QuickBooks, Oracle NetSuite and FreshBooks.

Later, Joy was given the role of Client’s Relations Manager (CRM) in the Tax Department where she developed strong client liaison capabilities, oversaw the client’s concerns, and gave advice where needed. She also provided tax consultancy services to one of the biggest constructions companies, China Railway Construction Engineering Group Co. Ltd, in addition to Complant Engineering and Trade Uganda Limited.

Joy graduated top of her class with a BSc degree in Quantitative Economics (First Class) from Makerere University.
