Daniel Mutumba
Senior Manager, Access-to-Finance Programs
Daniel has managed several multi-million dollar funding streams from the USAID, CDC, EU, US Department of Health and Human Services, US Department of Defense, DFID, Agence Medicine Preventive, Ohio State University, Emory School of Public Health, Harvard University, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Buffet Foundation, American Cancer Institute, Merck Company Foundation, Glaxo Smith Kline, PEPSICO, Global Fund, Unitaid, ELMA Foundation, Dan Church Aid, Segal Foundation, and Government of Uganda in excess of 1.5 Billion US dollars.
He has experience at the Board level, having served on the FSN Cooperative and Steadfin SACCO pioneer Board at Chair, Vice-Chair, and other levels. Daniel is also on the Concern for the Girl Child Board as Vice-Chair/ Chair finance and audit committee. He ensured SACCO compliance with all the relevant legislation and steered the founding of one of the top 10 SACCOs in Uganda with a portfolio in excess of UGX 60 billion.
He has managed dozens of external and internal audits engagements with all the big four audit-firms and the Office of the Auditor-General as an auditee. He has worked in several capacities as a senior team member on the finance/ operations/program teams of the Anglican Church of Uganda, African Field Epidemiology Network, USAID, and Clinton Health Access Initiative.
Daniel holds a Master of Science in Accounting & Finance and a bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting) both from Makerere University. He is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration at Edinburgh Business School. Daniel is a Member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), an Associate Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), a member of the Cooperate Governance Institute of Uganda, a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), a member of the American Association for Budget and Program Analysis (AABPA), a member of Rotary International and ACCA mid-level 2. He has also received several certificates in Finance, Program Management, United States Government contracting from USAID University, the Franklin Covey Company, International Law Institute, London School of Business, etc.
Daniel is a recipient of a Washington DC USAID Agency global 2014 meritorious award for Budget leadership and Global USAID Budget Subject Matter Expert (SME) / trainer. He has received several United States Government mission-wide Eagle and honor awards.
He is currently doubling as the Deputy Team Leader, MSE Recovery Fund – Facility Management.
