Paul Mugeni
RESEARCH & LEARNING ANALYST
Paul is a seasoned researcher with experience in formulating and applying econometric models as well as other optimisation methods to interpret information to assist in decision-making and policy formulation.
Paul has vast experience in research/proposal writing, monitoring and evaluation, digital banking, product development, data collection, data analysis, corporate governance, corporate finance, strategic engagements, project planning and management.
Prior to joining ASIGMA, Paul worked as a Research and Product Development Officer at Pride Microfinance Limited (MDI), the leading Microfinance Deposit Taking Institution in Uganda that is regulated and licensed by the Bank of Uganda. While there, he spear-headed numerous research projects such as the Customer Satisfaction Survey, Mystery shopping Survey, Covid-19 Impact Survey, Poverty Probability Index Survey and the Market Intelligence Survey that led to the development of products such as the Invoicing and Contract financing loan, Contingency loan, Rent financing loan and Salary loan products. In addition, he participated in the digital enhancement of products such as the Pride Mobile Phone Banking Application and the Save For a Target Account. He also took a lead role in the Pride Women Financing Program in partnership with the European Investment Bank and the Africa Women Rising Initiative.
Paul was also a Research Assistant at Gachon University, South Korea where he conducted systematic literature reviews, analyzed data, formulated and presented report findings and was able to publish a research article titled, “Does Executive Compensation Dispersion affect Firm Performance: The Moderating Role of Technology Intensity” in the International Journal of Innovation, Creativity and Change.
During his time at Unimoni Exchange Services Limited, Paul worked as a Retail Sales and Service Officer mainly carrying out foreign exchange transactions and conducting bank transfers. He was voted best performer in 2016 and 2015.
Currently, Paul holds a Master of Science Degree in Global Business and Entrepreneurship from Gachon University, South Korea and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Statistics from Kyambogo University, Uganda.
