Paul Senyomo

Paul has a diverse range of experiences obtained while working in different sectors in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Republic of South Sudan, Namibia and Ethiopia. He started off his career at PwC, where he worked as an Audit Associate and later Senior Associate. In this role, he oversaw the delivery of professional audit services to various clients in the banking industry, oil sector, and consumer and industrial products.

He went on to work with Bamburi Cement Group in Kenya in the roles of Project Manager for SAP System enhancements. He also worked as a Financial Controller for Bamburi Cement Limited at the Mombasa Plant where he oversaw Financial Operations, Purchasing, Stores Management, Information Systems, Business Analysis, General Administration and Operational Optimization. While at the company, Paul also worked as a Business Controller for Bamburi Group (Bamburi Cement Ltd – Kenya, Hima Cement Ltd – Uganda, Mbeya Cement Limited – Tanzania, East Africa Portland Cement Ltd – Kenya, Bamburi Special Products Ltd – Kenya) responsible for regional business strategy, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, performance management and controls monitoring, with a special focus in financial modelling relating to investment in new cement factories, Strategic Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting.

Currently, Paul is the CEO of Mercantile Credit Bank Limited, where he has led the organisational consolidation and turnaround strategy of the Tier II Financial Institution, licensed by the Central Bank of Uganda.

Paul has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Makerere University and an MBA from Gordon Institute of Business Science, University of Pretoria. He is also a Certified Public Accountant who is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) United Kingdom; Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (CPAU); Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda (CPAR); Member of PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioners, and APM Group United Kingdom.
