David oversees the team that drives ASIGMA’s vision and has steered technology-driven integration across all departments to deliver sustainable impact. As a strong advocate for digital transformation, he has championed the firm’s development of bespoke innovations that are shaping ecosystem functions relevant to the shifting market demands of agricultural traceability, investment readiness, monitoring and evaluation, fundraising and capacity building. 

Under his leadership, ASIGMA oversees a portfolio of over US$45 Million in Funds through Africa-wide development partners, now an ISO 9001:2015 certified firm, a fully licensed, regulated fund manager and investment advisor. He has pioneered investment vehicles that channel capital into high-impact sectors of agribusiness, finance, infrastructure, and manufacturing, expanding the role of the private sector in addressing Africa’s development challenges. David has significantly steered ASIGMA’s contribution to the continent’s development agenda through multilateral projects with CNOOC International, UNCDF, UNDP, Palladium Group, Heifer International and more, leveraging Pan-African partnerships to drive large-scale impact, guided by his vision of building Africa’s wealth. 

Over his 15+ years of experience, David has worked at the intersection of academia, global finance, and data-driven investment strategy across Africa and Europe. During his career, he has taken active roles in global industry organisations including former Credit Suisse Group (now UBS Group AG), one of the largest Swiss investment firms, and BlueCrest Capital Management in London, a US$35 Billion hedge fund. Across the industry, he built a reputation for excellence in data-led investment, valuation, and fund structuring. He is a recipient of the globally recognised Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charter, a testament to his expertise in alternate investments. 

David earned a First Class BSc Honours in Electrical Engineering specialising in renewable energy from Makerere University where he also lectured Engineering Math. He was a Victor Rothschild scholar in Mathematical Finance at the University of Cape Town/AIMS. He later joined the University of Cambridge, as a Commonwealth Cambridge scholar, where he obtained a Masters of Advanced Study (Part III of the Mathematical Tripos). David further explored Financial Derivatives at the London Business School and Financial Computing at University College London as an ESPRC scholar.
