ASIGMA and its consortium partner – Equity Bank Uganda launch the partnership under Feed the Future Uganda Inclusive Agricultural Markets Activity in Northern Uganda

Summary

ASIGMA with Equity Bank launched a partnership under the Feed the Future Uganda Inclusive Agricultural Markets Activity (FtF IAM) on 6th July 2022 in Northern Uganda. The FtF IAM is being implemented by DAI Global LLC.

Overview

The partnership seeks to build the capacity of Member Based Organisations (MBOs) and Aggregators in the agricultural sector by linking them to financing, markets and enabling business advisory services. By leveraging localised business support service models and digital technology, the MBOs and Aggregators will gain efficiencies in cross functions that will result in  a systemic change within the sector and transformative change in the country.

Building Sustainable Market Systems

ASIGMA is working with financial institutions “Equity Bank in this case” to deploy a Market Systems development approach to ensure better behaviours, practices, and shared benefits are realised by all actors within the system. Additionally, we are keen to link MBOs and Aggregators to premium buyers who are willing to incentivise and invest in purchasing quality agro commodities.

Scalability will be attained through unique business support models and digital tools that are not limited by location, sector and size.

The Activity implemented by DAI Global LLC seeks to increase incomes and improve the livelihoods of farmer households through agriculture-led inclusive economic growth by providing technical assistance for the development of the agricultural market system in Uganda to make it more competitive and inclusive for smallholder farmers, thereby making Uganda’s economy more self-reliant.

Our current and past project portfolio in Northern Uganda cuts across 10 varying economic sectors driving private sector investment and growth, sustainable economic development, data use, and technology acceleration. For good measure, our newly developed offices on Plot 1 Deogratius Oguti Road, after Acholi Quarters, Gulu are a reinforcement of our commitment to supporting economic development in underserved and undeveloped markets with a sustainable and impactful approach in the region.

The office is open to providing the same and more locally relevant support to all in greater Northern Uganda.

ASIGMA’s proven track record and the partnerships generated within and beyond Uganda ensures that individuals, teams and organizations are similarly driven by purpose and passion to build the wealth of the society one step at a time.
