ASIGMA is proud to have played a critical role in the successful launch of the $513m roadwork projects under the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area-Urban Development Program (GKMA-UDP). This initiative, supported by the World Bank, Agence Française de Développement, and the Government of Uganda, sought to assess roads and other critical infrastructure, including junctions, markets, taxi parks and drainage channels, within the nine GKMA entities: Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Mpigi DLG, Mukono DLG, Wakiso DLG, and the municipalities of Nansana, Kira, Makindye-Ssabagabo, Entebbe and Mukono.

Tasked with conducting a comprehensive prefeasibility study, ASIGMA evaluated up to 610 kilometres of roads across the GKMA. Leveraging our investment advisory expertise, our teams utilised an array of analyses such as strategic option analysis, multi-criteria assessment, and cost-benefit analysis to rank and prioritise key projects with the highest economic benefits.

With a focus on sustainable infrastructure, this project is set to transform the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area, the selected roads would optimise urban quality of life, mitigate traffic congestion, and reduce the risk of flooding thereby improving connectivity and contributing to the region’s broader economic growth.

ASIGMA’s efforts facilitated informed decision-making and offering project management that has laid the foundation for better infrastructure, urban resilience and job creation in Uganda.

As a firm dedicated to driving sustainable development through innovative solutions, we remain committed to expanding our portfolio, leveraging our expertise in investment advisory and project management to deliver impactful, long-term results for urban growth and modernisation.
