Wilson Kiggundu joins the team at ASIGMA as the Chief Technology Officer where he will be in charge of setting up and managing the firm’s technology services offering that leverages data and technology to add value to businesses.
Wilson Kiggundu said, “I have always wanted to understand what ASIGMA is doing. When I got a chance to meet the team, I knew that I wanted to join the team and be part of the team creating impact especially by helping our clients go on a journey of digitization as well as use my vast experience to help the business leverage technology to make systems and processes better.”
He joins ASIGMA with over 12 years of experience in software engineering and data science acquired through working on several software systems for institutions and private sector players. He most recently worked at Laboremus Uganda Limited, a Ugandan-based software consultancy firm with headquarters in Oslo, Norway, as a Senior Software Engineer. He was primarily responsible for building customized software systems for the leading banks in the Scandinavian region where he set up and managed a world-class team of software engineers.
Wilson holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering degree from Makerere University. He is both a Microsoft Certified Data Science professional with a focus on Machine learning and Business Intelligence as well as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer with a specialty in Full-stack Software Development.
He is passionate about problem-solving, design thinking, and people empowerment. He believes that Africa can solve its problems through intentional talent development.
The appointment comes as ASIGMA aims to accelerate and expand its digital technology solutions in the private, public, and development sectors in Uganda, enter new markets, and collaborate with other distribution partners.
