ASIGMA had the privilege of meeting with Nick Barigye, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR), to explore potential areas of collaboration aimed at strengthening Rwanda’s financial ecosystem and advancing the country’s National Strategy for Transformation (NST2).
Representing ASIGMA in the discussion was David Nanambi Wakyiku (Managing Director & Founder, ASIGMA), and Caleb Tumusiime (Head of Partnerships, ASIGMA Rwanda).
Unlocking economic growth through stronger alliances between public institutions and private enterprise
The discussion centered around navigating access to finance through data-driven investment and technology-driven integration. It highlighted how strategic partnerships between private investment firms and public institutions can accelerate sustainable economic growth.

Rwanda stands at the cusp of accelerated economic transformation, driven by its robust policy framework and focus on financial innovation. The Deputy Governor highlighted ongoing efforts by the National Bank of Rwanda to enhance financial sector stability, innovation, and inclusion, ensuring that the nation remains a regional hub for investment and sustainable development.
This strategic meeting follows earlier engagements and partnerships with key Rwandan stakeholders including Access To Finance Rwanda (AFR) and the Association of Microfinance Institutions Rwanda (AMIR), reflecting ASIGMA’s deepening presence in Rwanda’s investment landscape.
